    Black Professional Athletes in the Spotlight: HBCU Sports & Citizen Emphasizes

    Stillman University , and the HBCU area is regreting the loss of 3 participants of its area adhering to a fatal car accident in the Atlanta city area on the night of Might 23, 2025

    The accident proclaimed the lives of Sieas Elliot , an existing student, and graduates Destiny Gardner and Varick Lawrence All 3 were treasured individuals of the Stillman family members, understood for their dynamic individualities, dedication to solution, and scholastic and sporting activities achievements.

    Keeping In Mind Sieas Elliot

    Sieas Elliot , a citizen of Stockbridge, Georgia, had actually just recently finished his baseball occupation at Stillman College and was planning to return in the 2025– 2026 academic year to complete his degree and feature as a student assistant baseball trainer. He was furthermore an individual of Omega Psi Phi Society, Inc.

    Elliot was recognized on and off the location for his management and transmittable positivity, gaining the recognition of associates and professors alike.

    Recognizing Destiny Gardner

    Destiny Gardner , a 2022 criminal justice grad from Montgomery, Alabama, functioned as the 74 th Miss Stillman throughout the 2021– 2022 academic year. A dedicated participant of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. , she similarly functioned as a local representative for the UNCF National Pre-Alumni Council.

    At the time of her death, Gardner worked as an adolescent law enforcement officer at the DeKalb Regional Young People Apprehension Center in Georgia. She was deeply taken part in her location and was a passionate advocate for youths. Gardner and Lawrence shared a little one.

    Commemorating the Life of Varick Lawrence

    Varick Lawrence , initially from Lithonia, Georgia, played baseball at the HBCU from 2021 to 2023 and ended up in 2023 He was energised in youths improvement as a baseball trainer in the Atlanta location and was furthermore a participant of Omega Psi Phi Society, Inc.
