    Movers and Shakers: CALA Names New Leader; 12 Oaks Announces Leadership Shift

    California Assisted Living Association names new leader

    The California Assisted Living Association has named Kris Lev-Twombly as its new CEO.

    He will officially step into the role Aug. 3, a press release states.

    Lev-Twombly brings 22 years of experience to the position. He most recently served as president and CEO of the California State Alliance of YMCAs, where he “led the organization’s transformation into a full-service statewide association supporting 28 local YMCAs through advocacy, leadership development, communications, technical assistance and strategic partnerships,” according to the release.

    12 Oaks announces leadership shifts

    12 Oaks Senior Living has named Greg Puklicz as its CEO.

    In his new role as CEO and President, Puklicz will oversee all corporate operations, strategic initiatives and the continued expansion of the 12 Oaks regional footprint, according to a press release.

    Puklicz has served as the company’s president since 2021, and previous CEO Richard Blaylock will continue to provide leadership, governance and insight in his role as chairman of the board, according to the release.

    CIO brings tech leadership to Heritage Pointe Living Communities

    Heritage Pointe Living Communities has brought on Kim Speidel as its chief information officer.

    In her role, Speidel oversees both the strategic and operational sides of information technology, including long-term planning and making sure technology investments are in keeping with organizational goals and ensuring that day-to-day systems function properly, according to a press release.

    Speidel brings more than 20 years of experience to the position, with more than half of her career being at WorldCom.

    Vivie creates and fills chief revenue officer role

    Vivie has named Mike Fryar as its chief revenue officer, a newly created role for the company.

    In this role, Fryar will focus on strengthening alignment across marketing, sales and growth as the organization continues expanding services and supporting more people, according to a press release.

    Fryar bring more than 20 years of experience to the position, with a background that includes “senior marketing and revenue leadership with a large, multi-state senior living organization, where he helped support growth strategy across a broad portfolio of communities,” the release states.

    U.K. operator brings on U.S. senior living veteran

    U.K. senior living operator Birchgrove has appointed Matt Jesperson as its chief growth officer.

    He will join Birchgrove from his role as managing director of advisory services at Aline, according to a press release.

    In his new role, Jesperson will “focus on creating a systemized, relationship-focused approach to growing occupancy across Birchgrove’s portfolio, with a goal of achieving and maintaining 96% occupancy,” the release states.

    Salmon Health and Retirement forms owner board

    Salmon Health and Retirement, a senior living organization that has served Central Massachusetts since 1952, has formed an ownership board and appointed two independent members.

    Salmon has created this governance structure to “strengthen family stewardship, support future generations of leadership and preserve the organization’s mission and values,” a press release states.

    In addition to creating the board, Douglas Singer and Jane Newton have been appointed as the inaugural independent members.

    HRA appoints executive vice president

    Harbor Retirement Associates has appointed David Berrien as its executive vice president of development and acquisitions.

    In his new role, Berrien will “lead HRA’s strategic expansion, overseeing the pipeline for new senior housing development, campus transformations and market acquisitions nationwide,” according to a press release.

    Berrien previously spent nine years as a senior director of development at Erickson Senior Living, where he “managed over $1 billion in successful senior living development and major campus expansions across multiple states.”

    LCS creates role for AI strategy

    LCS has brought on Stuart Reoch as its first AI solutions lead.

    In the newly created role, Reoch will “lead efforts to identify, develop and scale AI-powered solutions that enhance efficiency, improve decision-making and create measurable value,” along with evaluating AI technologies and training team members to integrate AI into their daily work.

    Prior to joining LCS, Reoch spent four years with Amazon, where he leveraged AI and advanced technologies to optimize warehouse operations and strengthen connectivity throughout the company’s supply chain network, the release states.
