Savannah Steel will have a new voice on the sidelines as the team announced a coaching change ahead of Friday’s game.

Savannah Steel announced Wednesday that head coach Coretta Brown is taking a leave of absence to attend to a personal family matter.
Assistant coach Toccara Ross will serve as interim head coach during Brown’s absence.
In a statement, the organization said it and the UPSHOT League fully support Brown and asked that her privacy be respected during this time. The Steel also thanked fans, partners and the community for their understanding and continued support.
The Steel return to the court Friday when they host the Jacksonville Waves at Enmarket Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
