Aging Well: News & Insights for Seniors and Caregivers

    Key takeaways
    • AMBA uses a discreet, non-wearable under-mattress sensor to monitor sleep and vitals, working silently with no cameras.
    • Provides actionable insights on sleep quality, resting heart and respiratory rates, and changes in daily routines to spot meaningful trends.
    • You stay in control: your data belongs to you, built with privacy in mind and optional sharing with family or healthcare providers.

    Future of independent living

Technology has transformed nearly every part of our lives, and now it’s changing the way we age!  At The Manor on Bankers Hill, we’re proud to offer AMBA, an innovative wellness monitoring system. We brought it to our community because it helps people to live well, giving them insights into their health and an easy way to share information with friends or family.

In fact, The Manor is one of the only independent living communities in San Diego offering this advanced technology. By incorporating AMBA, we’re investing in the well-being of our residents and the future of senior living. What’s even better,  Amba is provided at no additional cost to our residents!

    What Is AMBA?

AMBA is a discreet, non-wearable wellness platform designed to help people better understand their health patterns. Unlike wearable devices that need to be charged or remembered each day, AMBA works quietly in the background without requiring residents to change their routines. It uses no cameras.

A thin sensor is placed beneath the mattress and works while you’re sleeping. The sensor securely connects to a private dashboard where you can access your own information.

AMBA gives you insights into sleep quality and overnight patterns, resting heart and respiratory rate, changes in normal routines, time spent in and out of bed, and longer-term health and wellness trends. Just imagine, health insights that are actionable. Such as spending more time walking and seeing how well you sleep that night.

    What can Amba tell you?

Your body is giving you information all the time. How well are you sleeping? Is your resting heart rate changing? Are you moving differently than you normally do? Amba helps turn those everyday patterns into useful insights, without asking you to wear, charge or remember a thing.

    With Amba, you can:

    • Get a better picture of your sleep and overnight patterns
    • See trends in resting heart and respiratory rate
    • Notice when your everyday routines begin to change
    • Experiment with healthy habits and see how your body responds
    • Share insights with a friend, family member or healthcare provider if you choose

The more Amba learns what’s normal for you, the more useful those insights can become. It’s a pretty cool way to stay curious about your health and to potentially spot a change worth paying attention to.

Know More. Without Giving Up More.

Amba is designed to give you useful health insights while keeping your privacy exactly that-private. There are no cameras or microphones, and your information belongs to you.

Want to share a trend with your doctor? Great. Have a friend or family member you’d like to keep in the loop? You can do that, too. Or keep it all to yourself.

You decide what to share, when to share it, and with whom.

Aging Is Changing And So Are We.

At The Manor, we’re always looking ahead to explore new ideas, technology and experiences that can make life healthier, easier, and more interesting.

Amba is just one example: sophisticated health technology that gives you greater insight into your own wellness without getting in the way of living your life. Because we think a modern approach to aging should keep getting better.

If you’d like to learn more about AMBA or experience everything The Manor has to offer, we invite you to schedule a tour. Discover how innovation and community come together to create a truly exceptional place to call home.
