- Reverse: 1999 is set to partner with Ubisoft’s flagship franchise, Assassin’s Creed
- Content from Assassin’s Creed II and Odyssey is set to appear in-game
- That’s alongside the launch of Reverse: 1999’s official merch store and more!
Recently, superhit hero shooter Marvel Rivals partnered with Marvel’s many mobile releases to integrate new crossover content. I observed this was an unusual inversion of how mobile typically boosts other platforms, not the other way around. And for anyone unsure that this was usually the case then today’s news that Reverse: 1999 is partnering with Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed should put that to rest!
Assassin’s Creed needs little introduction as one of Ubisoft’s flagship franchises since its first release in 2007. And now you’ll be able to enjoy content inspired by both Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and arguably the most beloved entry, Assassin’s Creed II.
Right now, we don’t have a lot to go on apart from a suitably enigmatic teaser trailer, however given that Reverse: 1999’s whole raison d’etre has to do with time travel it certainly fits the Assassin’s Creed series and its century-spanning storyline. What we can share is other exciting news, like the launch of Reverse: 1999’s official merchandise store, coming January 10th!
Hidden blade
I’m sure fans find it quite vindicating that despite its age the Assassin’s Creed II saga still stands as one of the series’ most well-known and beloved. But I’m also not surprised that Odyssey joins the lineup either, as if there’s one thing I can say about any of the entries in the franchise it’s that I always enjoyed exploring new, distinct historical eras.
And if you’re a Reverse: 1999 fan who can’t stand to wait, keep an eye out for the upcoming Drizzling Echoes fan concert streaming on January 18th! There’s also part two of their collaboration with the Discovery channel to look forward to and a new EP.
Meanwhile, if you’re an Assassin’s Creed fan scoffing at coming to mobile, why not take a step back and explore the series’ long legacy on handheld?
