SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Dylan Gordon and Brendan Lanigan — two baseball players at Islands High School — made it official on Jan. 30.
They will continue their dream of playing the sport they love at the next level.
Gordon is a senior catcher headed to Gordon State College. He said he’s a country boy at heart and prefers the country over the beach because there will not be many distractions.
“Playing it Islands, it’s gritty,” Gordon said. “You’ve got to have some grit to go to college and play baseball. I think Islands has really given me that grit and push to really play for college ball. Playing, especially in JUCO.”
Lanigan is a senior right-handed pitcher headed to Eastern Florida State College. Lanigan said his recruiting took off when a video from his travel ball team received more than 74,000 views.
“It does look like I will be coming in and playing games,” Lanigan said. “With a limited roster spots, there’s definitely a need for pitchers for each game with like three to four games each week. There’s always a need for pitchers.”
