SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A special tradition continued Friday at one of Savannah’s most historic churches.
Parishioners gathered at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church on Good Friday for a ceremony reminding worshippers that Good Friday is not just a day of mourning, but a powerful reminder of sacrifice, love and redemption.
St. Benedict the Moor was recognized in 2008 with a Georgia historical marker as the oldest African American catholic church in the state.
