The Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) Board of Directors will host a special bus stop dedication ceremony to honor former Board of Director Kenneth Adams for four years of dedicated service to public transportation and the Chatham County community.

The ceremony will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10 a.m., at the Augusta Avenue and Stratford bus stop, where a commemorative plaque will be unveiled in his honor.

“This recognition is a well-deserved tribute to former director Kenneth Adams,” said Deidrick Cody, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “His determination, leadership, and tireless advocacy helped pave the way for a more connected and inclusive transit system that will serve residents for years to come.”

Adams joined the CAT Board of Directors in 2021 and quickly became a driving force behind critical policy decisions, sustainable system growth, and forward-thinking innovations. During his tenure, he was instrumental in advancing several key initiatives, including the expansion of CAT’s fixed-route service into Garden City in 2023 and Port Wentworth in 2024. Adams concluded his service on December 31, 2024, leaving a legacy of progress and a lasting impact on public transportation across the region.

The event is open to the public, and CAT invites community members to join in celebrating Kenneth Adams’ legacy
