Ever heard the phrase “your skin but better?” Well, that’s the inspiration behind Jennifer Lopez’s latest manicure.

After rocking the cat eye nail trend earlier this month, Lopez is giving her nails an aesthetic breather, opting for a “BB cream mani,” courtesy of nail artist Tom Bachik, a barely-there manicure expert with a celebrity clientele a mile long, though you probably know him from his work with Selena Gomez, Hailee Steinfeld, and, of course, J.Lo.

Though Lopez is currently on tour, she seemed to find a “heartbeat” to visit Bachik between concerts, based on the fresh manicure she sported in a recent Instagram post. Bachik also posted the 55-year-old singer’s latest summer manicure to his Instagram feed, revealing the exact process to achieve BB cream nails in the caption.

Instead of relying on polish to deliver the particular nude look Bachik was going for, he relied on Après Nails’ Gel-X medium coffin tips in the neutral shade Maisie, which he filed into a “soft almond” shape and topped off with his own brand’s click gel pen in Super Clear for some glossy shine. In fact, it was the same process he used to give Gomez’s nails that healthy glow-from-within back in March.

For those who don’t know, BB creams are a K-beauty innovation that have been described as a “cross between makeup primer and tinted moisturizer,” offering sheer coverage alongside skincare-boosting ingredients like hyaluronic acid and niacinimide. Between glass nails and soap nails, summer 2025 manicure trends are clearly taking cues from clean girl makeup routines—and Jennifer Lopez knows a thing or two about a healthy glow.
