Empowering Black Entrepreneurship: Stories of Success, Strategy & Growth

It’s harder than ever to be a teenage girl, and Zara Chantelle is offering a shining light of solace and hope through her new single “Happiness.” It’s a battle cry for today’s teenagers to find happiness and excitement through their own lives and interests instead of relying on an unhealthy relationship or flaky partner to bring them joy. Culminating in a cathartic outro that repeats the song title over layered vocals, you root for Zara and her friends to find happiness while also contemplating how you can put happiness and your well-being first in your own life.

“‘Happiness’ is a breakup anthem written to empower teenage girls who are finally choosing themselves over toxic relationships,” Zara says. “Inspired by watching friends reclaim their happiness after toxic relationships, this song captures that post-heartbreak clarity when you realise leaving was the best thing you could’ve done. Channeling freedom, growth, and emotional rebellion — all wrapped in a catchy pop-rock vibe.”

Hailing from Adelaide, Australia, 18-year-old Zara uses her life experiences and the skills she’s picked up from playing over 190 gigs to craft thought-provoking songs that will have you humming along halfway through your first listen. She draws from icons like Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams while incorporating a perspective all her own, and “Happiness” is a promising debut single that makes us eager to hear more of her heartfelt, introspective vision.

Follow along with Zara Chantelle’s journey on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube, and her website!
