Global Paralympic chiefs meet in Grenada for regional progress

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC – In a historic move for adaptive sports, the Caribbean is set to gain a powerful new advocate. Top officials from the global and regional Paralympic movement will gather in Grenada on Monday to officially launch the groundbreaking Caribbean Adaptive Sports Alliance (CASA).

The landmark press conference, hosted by the Grenada Paralympic Committee, will take place at the Public Workers Union (PWU) building in Tanteen on August 25.

The high-profile delegation will be led by International Paralympic Committee (IPC) President Andrew Parsons, who will be joined by Julio César Avila Sarria, President of the Americas Paralympic Committee (AmPC), and Martin Jackman, the newly appointed President of CASA.

This alliance marks a pivotal commitment to shattering barriers and creating structured pathways to sport for athletes with disabilities across the region.

CASA’s mission is to foster social inclusion and open doors to competitive opportunities that have historically been limited in the Caribbean.

Following formal remarks from each dignitary, the event will feature a question-and-answer session, allowing the media direct access to the leaders steering this transformative initiative.
