Ms. Pearlie Mae Brown
July 23, 1941 – July 2, 2025
God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb, but she fought a good fight. On July 2, 2025 God gently closed those beautiful eyes and said “Pearlie Mae you are getting weary.” God did what he thought was best, he came and stood beside her and whispered “Come and rest.”
Ms. Pearlie Mae Brown was born July 23, 1941 to the late Ned and Estelle Bradford Brown in Sardis, GA. Pearlie Mae joined Freewill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she served faithfully as the Mother of the Church.
Pearlie Mae attended the public schools of Screven County. Later in life she met the late Elijah Joe Zeigler and they were blessed with five children and four bonus children. She was employed at Screven County Hospital where she retired.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Elijah Brown; a daughter, Izetta Brown; siblings, Clara Belle Benton, Margaret Flowers, Clifford Brown, Eva Mae Rhodes, Louise Odom Lucille Philpoe, Jacob Ellison, Willie Ellison and Frank Ellison.
She is survived by her children, Nathan Brown and Willie Pearl Brown of Sylvania, GA, Laurie (Willie) Mingle of Statesboro, GA, and Jerome (Ernita) Brown of Savannah, GA; special sister, Bernice Lawton-Maycock; bonus children, Rodia (Ron) McKenzie, Christopher (Monica) Jones, Elizaeth Williams, LaStarr (Willie) Smith Nidrah Phillips, Stacie (Kenneth) Fernandez, Shantrail Maycock, Shirley Free, Cheniata Johnson, Jerry (Diane) Kilcrease and Rodney (Laura) Mercer; grandchildren, Alexis Brown, Ashspernette (Detronne) Douglas, Roderick Lowery, Tyrone (Devon) Mingle, Jordan (Deaje) Brown, Elijah Brown, Jeremy Brown, Quaneesha Arnett, Aaliyah Knox, Alonda (Edwin) Wilson, Josephine (Michael) Bacon, Kristie (Kendrick) Prescott, Chiquita Pitts and Becky Bankole; great grandchildren, Ty’Rique Mayson, Lauren, A’Kiryon, Caleb, Aleigh, Braylen, Kasen, Amaya, Adelyn, Khadijah and McKenna; one devoted niece, Deloris Hunter and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
