    Key takeaways
    • Candace Owens accuses Donald Trump of silence on Charlie Kirk’s death, alleging possible foul play and Israeli involvement.
    • Owens spread conspiracy claims, citing threats from Bill Ackman and Israel; those named deny the accusations.
    • The claims fueled online conspiracy waves and echoed by figures like Tucker Carlson, despite no presented evidence.

Nationwide — Candace Owens criticized Donald Trump for staying silent about the investigation into Charlie Kirk’s death, accusing him of ignoring possible foul play and hinting that the Israeli government may have been involved.

Owens, a longtime ally of Kirk, began spreading the theory soon after his death in September. This week, she called out Trump on her podcast, saying his administration was “being quiet because of the pro-Israel lobby.”

“I know spiritually, from the moment Charlie Kirk passed, that we were never going to get the full story from officials,” she said. Owens also questioned Trump’s decision to post an AI-generated photo of him and Kirk with a Star of David in the background, calling it a sign that “the investigation into who murdered Charlie Kirk was officially over.”

She added that Trump’s decision to declare a national day of remembrance for Kirk showed that officials were not interested in finding out what really happened. “It’s never good when the feds are lining up to give you a holiday,” Owens said. “The best way to honor Charlie Kirk is to figure out who killed him.”

Owens’ remarks follow a history of antisemitic accusations. She was suspended from YouTube last year for sharing an interview with Kanye West, where he claimed “Jewish people control the media.” Rabbi Shmuley Boteach later called her “America’s antisemite.”

Her claims have fueled a wave of online conspiracy theories. Figures like Tucker Carlson have echoed Owens’ suggestion that Kirk was distancing himself from Israel and that his death was being covered up. Both Carlson and comedian Dave Smith reportedly criticized the war in Gaza at a Turning Point USA event before Kirk’s death.

Owens also alleged that Kirk told her he was threatened by hedge fund manager Bill Ackman and the Israeli government. Ackman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have dismissed these claims as false. “What I do know is this: Charlie Kirk was a great man, and a great man deserves honor, not lies,” Netanyahu said.

No evidence has been presented to support Owens’ accusations. Her close friendship with Kirk has become the main basis for her claims, despite widespread denials from those she accused.
