“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. “ Ecclesiastes 12:7

In life, a person must travel many paths. These paths are designed to teach many valuable lessons and to prepare us for our final resting place. Birdie Mae has come to the end of her journey, never to tread through this life here on earth again, and the only thing that she took on this journey was the love she had in her heart for each of her family members and friends.

The path of life for Birdie Mae Sanders started on December 13, 1958, in Hampton County, South Carolina, when God blessed the late Archie Gadson and Carrie Shiggs Gadson with this beautiful and gentle spirit. She was educated in the Hampton County public school system. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and rededicated her life to God at the age of forty and became a member of Ebenezer Holy Church, Lena, South Carolina.

Birdie Mae Gadson was united in holy matrimony with Clifford Sanders on June 1, 1991, in Hampton, South Carolina. Their union was blessed with three children and five that he helped nurture and raise.

Birdie Mae Sanders departed this life on November 10, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Charlene and Glenda Daughtry; sisters, Laura Blake and Agnes Miller; brothers, Archie Gadson and Matthew Aiken; and granddaughter, Lamekia Warren.

She leaves to cherish her memories; husband, Clifford Sanders; children, Melissa Daughtry, Peaches Daughtry, Nadine Moton, Brittany Gadson, Steve Gadson and Ty’Shanae Smith all of Hampton, South Carolina; two brothers, John Gadson of South Carolina and Cleveland (Doris) Gadson of Atlanta, Georgia; several grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Gadson and Diane Gadson both of Estill, South Carolina; one sister-in-law of Estill, South Carolina; four brothers-in-law, Joseph Sanders of Hampton, South Carolina, Muwsa Addul Latif of Columbia, South Carolina, Lester Sanders of Estill, South Carolina, and Harold Sanders of California; sister-in-love, Doreen Butler; three daughters-in-love, Seneinka (Thadeus) Jones of Luray, SC, Dawn (John) Williams of Furman, South Carolina, and Ladeidra Stokes-Roberts of Ocala, Florida; loving son-in-law, Alphonzo Moton of Robertsville, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
