Award-winning filmmaker and storyteller Audra Nicole Davison, a Spelman College graduate, is proud to announce the upcoming release of her fantasy novel The Hale Academy: A Realm Unknown. Now available for preorder on Amazon and soon on Barnes & Noble, this coming-of-age adventure promises to enchant readers with magic, mystery, and the strength found in sisterhood.

Inspired by her award-winning animated short of the same name, Audras novel weaves a narrative that centers Black girl magic, legacy, and the journey to self-discovery. In her own words, the story is a love letter to the magical coming-of-age tales I wish existed when I was younger.

When young protagonists discover they belong to a hidden world of magic and power, they must navigate challenges both within and beyond themselves. The Hale Academy: A Realm Unknown introduces readers to a realm where friendship, identity, and heritage intertwineand where the bonds between sisters may be the key to unlocking their own magical destinies.

About the Author Audra Nicole Davison:

Audra Nicole Davison is a multidisciplinary creator whose work spans film, animation, and writing. She is best known for her award-winning animated short The Hale Academy, from which this novel is adapted. Through her artistry, Audra seeks to expand representation in speculative fiction, especially stories that center Black girls and women navigating magical and fantastical worlds.

Her storytelling is deeply rooted in community, legacy, and a passion for imaginative worlds where marginalized voices can take center stage. With The Hale Academy, Audra invites readers of all ages to experience wonder, resilience, and transformation.
