Marietta Francina Brown was born in Chatham County on September 28, 1964, to the late Frankie Evans, and Harold Johnson who raised her as his own. She was raised in Effingham County, graduating from Effingham County High School early in 1983, and furthered her education in dental hygiene at Draughon’s Jr. College.

She was baptized at White Oak Baptist Church, serving on the usher board from a young age and later, moved her membership to Abercorn Baptist Church.

Always the life of the party, Francina had a passion for life! She enjoyed music from childhood, making her way to the television every Saturday afternoon to watch Soul Train. This enthusiasm for music continued throughout life, even after suffering a major medical setback at the age of 33. Her interests were simple, including music, Word Search puzzles, and lively conversation. She will truly be missed by those who loved her.

Francina was joined in marriage to the late Lawrence Brown, Jr. in 1989. They became the proud parents of Lawree’l Francis Brown, Harold Lawrence Lavontae Brown, Murphy Lawrence Brown, and the late Odas Stafford.

After battling a short illness, Francina went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 17, 2025 under hospice care at home.

She leaves to cherish precious memories; Harold Johnson (father), Lawree’l Brown (daughter), Harold Brown (son), Murphy Brown (son), Jamonta, Jaudon, Art, and Noah (grandchildren), Clyde Johnson (brother), LaTisa Steele (Glenn)(sister), and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing Thursday, October 23, 2025, 2-5 P.M., Smalls Funeral Home Chapel, 203 Samuel Smalls Sr. Ave., Guyton, Georgia  31312. Celebration of Life Friday, October 24, 2025, Abercorn Missionary Baptist Church, 846 Old Augusta Road South, Rincon, Georgia  31326.Mrs. Brown will lie in-state at the church 10:00 A.M. til hour of service.  No viewing after Eulogy!  Final resting place, Dennis Memorial Cemetery, Hwy 21 Rincon, Georgia.  Smalls Funeral Home, Inc. ” Family Serving Families”
