Style Spotlight: Looks, Trends & Fashion Inspiration

Key takeaways
  • These Gucci-pattern sandals are neutral, versatile, and selling out, became my go-to spring and summer pair.
  • I bought a roomy Free People dress from Nordstrom, bump friendly, ordered more colors, perfect postpartum too.
  • The Lack of Color bucket hat in natural is trendy, packable, and worn nonstop; try the Palma wide brim for a classic option.
  • A canvas Birkin-style bag from a small 30A boutique elevates casual looks, available online in many colors, girls love smaller versions.
  • The Amazon skirt was a big win, under $40, comes in nine colors, has built-in shorts, perfect for moms chasing kids.

I can’t believe March is already over!! It was such a fun month and definitely felt like the start of spring around here. We took a trip to the Cayman Islands for the girls’ Spring Break and had the BEST time (I shared a full recap of our trip here), and it was extra special knowing it was one of our last big family trips before baby #3 arrives.

We also finally started getting some warmer weather in North Carolina, which meant I could start wearing some spring dresses without needing a jacket and I can’t tell you how happy that makes me!! Between that and needing some new pieces that would fit my growing bump, I found a few items that quickly became staples for me this month.

Today’s post is a little mix of my favorite finds from March! The pieces I’ve been reaching for the most, a few bump-friendly staples, and some new spring finds I’ve been loving. Let’s get into this month’s favorites!

I grabbed these sandals before going to the Cayman Islands and didn’t realize how much I’d end up wearing them! They have the subtle Gucci pattern but are still neutral enough to pair with so many different outfits. They’re selling out super fast so I am certain these will be a popular item this spring and summer!

I just got this from Nordstrom and have already ordered it in more colors (including the black and butter yellow!). I got my normal size in Free People (XS) and still have plenty of room for the bump because it’s so spacious. I love that this is a piece I can wear postpartum, too! I’m all about buying pieces that fit my bump but aren’t necessarily maternity because I can get more wear out of them post-baby. Shop the whole look here.

Lack of Color is one of my favorite brands for spring and summer hats, and this bucket hat in the color ‘natural’ has already gotten a tonnnnn of wear! This is definitely a trendy hat right now and I love that it’s small and easy to pack for trips. If you aren’t sure if the bucket hat trend is for you, try out the Palma wide brim hat (see it styled here) – I’ve had that one for YEARS and it’s held up soooo well. You can shop the whole look here.

I jumped on the jelly sandal train and I couldn’t love them more!!! It’s taking me back to my childhood years wearing jelly sandals haha. The soles of these sandals are so soft and supportive, they are truly so comfortable. I got them in my true size and they fit perfect! See them styled here.

This bag stopped me in my tracks when I saw it!! It looks like a Birkin bag, but it’s made of canvas. My exact one is from a small boutique in 30A, but I found this one online and it is super similar – and comes in way more colors! I’ve been using this bag consistently at home for running errands, and it seems to elevate any look (even a casual one). I also ordered these exact bags in a size small for the girls in the pink color, which you can see here – they love them!!

This dress is perfect if you have any vacations coming up!! I love the rope detail on the neck ties and loved that I could adjust the waist tie to go over the bump. It comes in a really pretty pink and orange color, too! Shop the whole look here.

This style of dress is one of my favorites because I can easily throw it on with some accessories and be done! It’s also perfect for pregnancy, even though it’s not maternity, and the brown color is so pretty. I can see myself wearing this into the fall with a layered jacket over it. Shop the whole look here.

This was a big Amazon win this month – I’ve worn it soooo much! It’s less than $40 and comes in nine different colors. The blue is so pretty, it’s definitely my favorite! Also, I feel like I need to call out that this skirt has built-in shorts! Such a win for the moms chasing their kids haha. This is a cute piece to wear around the house, but I wore it with my favorite Amazon heart necklace and some cute sneakers for a concert!

The girls outfits from the Cayman Islands were pretty much all Zara and they were all sooooo cute! I love the crochet theme they have going right now. Zara is such a good place to grab cute clothes for kids because they’re fairly inexpensive and always cute and trendy! Shop all of these looks here.

Monday Swimwear is one of my favorite sites to browse when I have a vacation coming up or I just need to refresh my swimwear in my closet. They have the cutest prints, matching sarongs, and sizes that fit multiple body types! This was one of my favorite looks while we were in the Cayman Islands and I know I’ll wear it again this summer! Shop the whole look (including the girls) here.

That wraps up my favorite finds from March! I’m in LA right now shooting a super fun project I’ve been working on for a long time and I can’t wait to share more with you! Follow along on IG to see some sneak peeks. 🙂
