City of Savannah: Official News, Events & Community Updates

City to Close Offices Thursday, June 19, in Observance of Juneteenth

ย 

SAVANNAH โ€“ City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed Thursday, June 19 in observance ofย the Juneteenth federal holiday. Emergency services will remain operational.

Sanitation services will be affected by theโ€ฏholidayโ€ฏclosure. Residents can expect the following changes to their schedule:

Residential garbage collection and yard waste collection services will not take place on Thursday, June 19. Collection services will resume on Friday, June 20, and proceed on a one-day delayed schedule. Street sweepers will not operate on Thursday, June 19. Regular service will resume on Friday, June 20.

Recycling will not be impacted and will proceed on a normal operating schedule. ย The Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station will be closed on Thursday, June 19. Both facilities will reopen at their regularly scheduled hours on Friday, June 20.ย 

Residents are encouraged to consult the annual Sanitation schedule or visitย savannahga.gov/sanitationย to confirm their collection day. For more information, residents can call (912) 651-6579.
