College Board delays determination on bid to provoke Section I – Monitor and Area Mission at GCHS


Section 1- Monitor and Area Mission

The Greene County Board of Schooling held a known as assembly, Thursday April 10, 2025 to contemplate a bid for athletic enhancements to Greene County Excessive College – Section I – GCHS Monitor and Area Mission. Superintendent Dr. Corey Jones acknowledged that the aim of the assembly was to lock in materials and different prices for the Mission in mild of present US financial situations.

He defined that the 2 preliminary bids from Sport Day, Inc at $2,244,444 and J.T. Harrison at $1,899,000 have been each over finances, subsequently there was a re-bid with solely Sport Day Inc. proposing a value of $1,683,748.

CSFO Mrs. Marquita Lennon, displayed the class of funds accessible for the Section I Monitor and Area Mission at GCHS: FY 2024 K12 Capital Grant – $1,100,000; FY 2025 Ok-12 Capital Grant $84,615.38; Fy 2024 Schooling Belief fund Development and Expertise Fund – $111,900; FY 2025 Schooling Belief Fund Development and Expertise Fund (Proposed) $575,000. These fund classes whole $1,871,515.38.

The board members questioned the distinction between Sport Day Inc.’s preliminary bid and the second re-bid. Dr. Jones and CSFO Lennon defined that modifications and/or substitutions to the plans and specs have been mirrored within the re-bid.

Though Superintendent Jones was in a position to attain the Architectural Agency of McKee & Associates throughout the board assembly and the board was in a position to make inquiries on the time regarding deletions to the unique Mission Specs, they seemingly weren’t happy and requested an in-person assembly with Walter McKee on the subsequent board assembly. No additional motion was taken on the GCHS Section I -Monitor and Area Mission.

On the superintendent’s advice, the board did approve the quote of $27,570.62 from AngelTrax to improve digital camera/surveillance system and add windshield cameras on college buses.
