As Megan Thee Stallion gears up to release her fourth studio album “Megan Act II” on Friday, there’s one rapper who’s trying to get in on her next project: DaBaby.
Speaking to N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on their “Drink Champs” podcast recently, the “Blame It On Baby” rapper revealed that he wants to do more music with the “Mamushi” rapper and that he still has love for her despite their current rift.
For context, the two previously collaborated on hits like “Cash Shit,” “Cry Baby,
and “Nasty” back in 2019 and 2020 respectively. But thanks to DaBaby’s alliance with Tory Lanez—the rapper convicted of shooting Megan in the foot back in July 2020—and DaBaby’s own issues, the two of them haven’t collaborated on a song ever since.
Now, it appears he wants that old thing back with Megan as evidenced by his sentiments on the podcast.
“I got love for Meg. Me and Meg did some dope shit together. And it’s good to see her rise amongst the obstacles. I’m manifesting a song with Glo and Meg together and Baby,” he said. “I think that’s the way me and Meg should pop back out because I feel like ain’t none of these n***as—and no disrespect—that y’all are making music with can really embody that.”
He added: “Come home baby, you ain’t gotta be making that lame shit with none of these other n****s. You can, we can come get it in. Or we can not. I know how to talk that shit.”
However, once the clip of DaBaby’s words went viral on social media, folks online were quick to say that they weren’t here for it.
“Unfortunately DaBaby is telling the truth. Him and Megan thee stallion make amazing music but he needs to leave my sis alone!” wrote one user on X/Twitter.
“Now why da baby clout chasin off megan @DaBabyDaBaby u ain’t keep it ‘p.’ u gotta stand on thatshe don’t wanna do no more songs with u she make her own hits,” said another.
“You mean the guy who brought her shooter on stage with him out of spite to be funny? Hmm good luck with that,” another wrote.
