BLUFFTON, S.C. (WSAV) — The first day of the Bobcat Holiday Classic produced some great performances on Dec. 26 at Bluffton High School.
On the boys’ side, Islands opened up the tournament with a win over Bridges Prep. Islands’ lead was cut to one point in the fourth, but then a quick 9-0 run stretched the lead back out to 10.
Islands went on to win, 63-49. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for Islands.
Also picking up a win was Hilton Head Prep, the Dolphins withstood a late charge from Hampton County. Hilton Head advanced to the semifinals with a 47-32 victory.
The semifinals on the boys’ side will be Hilton Head Prep and May River at 4:30 p.m. and Bluffton and Islands at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be Friday, Dec. 27.
On the girls’ side, Hilton Head Prep breezed past Hampton County. Courtney Campbell was the star for the Dolphins in a 53-39.
The girls’ semifinal will be Battery Creek and Hilton Head Prep at 1:30 p.m. and Bluffton and John Paull II at 6 p.m. Battery Creek and Bluffton received byes into the semifinals. Both games will be Friday.
All games will take place at Bluffton High School.
