Barbados now has a new direct flight from Ireland. This comes at the same time as Aer Lingus is ending its Manchester-to-island route at the end of March 2026. From March 31, 2026, to May 31, 2026, there will be three flights per week on Tuesday, Fridays, and Sundays. This is the first service that goes straight from Ireland to the Caribbean.
The temporary direct service between Dublin and Barbados will begin in late March 2026, according to the Irish airline Aer Lingus. Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. made the news public on Friday through its official Facebook page.
Tickets for the trip, which is said to leave Dublin at 1:50 pm and arrive in Barbados at 6 pm, start at €732.
The BTMI said that this new route is an important step forward for the destination in the Irish market. It is expected to improve connections between the two islands and make it easier than ever for Irish tourists to enjoy Barbados’ warmth, culture, and beauty.
The people in charge also said that flight seats are now available for the new route. This service will be run by Aer Lingus’s newest, most fuel-efficient Airbus A321XLR planes. It will strengthen ties between the two places and give travellers from Ireland an easy and environmentally friendly way to get to Barbados.

But the news comes at a time when Aer Lingus’ operations in the UK are changing. Direct flights from Manchester to Barbados were operated by Aer Lingus from its long-haul base in Manchester. The flights ran from November to March each year. Airline filings and schedules show that the Manchester-to-Barbados service is ending, along with other transatlantic routes like New York and Orlando. This is because Aer Lingus will close its long-haul base in Manchester on March 31, 2026.
The airline stopped selling transatlantic flights from Manchester after March 31, 2026, and customers have been told that flights on or after that date are no longer available.
Other airlines still operate or plan flights between the UK and Barbados, especially in the winter. However, Aer Lingus’ Manchester route will end at the end of March unless other changes are revealed. As a result, the Dublin service is seen as both a strategic move into Ireland and a welcome boost to Barbados’ spring break season airlift.
