The Impartial Fee of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing the dying of 24-year-old Duwanna Gyles, in any other case known as ‘Brandon’, who was fatally shot by lawmen in Ewarton, St Catherine, on Wednesday.

Gayles is from of Innswood Village, Spanish City, within the parish.

A police crew was reportedly on operation in Tucker Street, about 7:40 a.m., when the deceased engaged the police in an armed confrontation. Gyles was shot and injured.

The police say a Smith and Wesson pistol affixed with {a magazine} containing two rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition was seized from him.

He was taken to the Linstead Hospital the place he was pronounced useless.
