From Hollywood to Home: Black Voices in Entertainment

Moniece Slaughter and Lil Fizz are ever the proud parents as their son Kamron graduates from eighth grade.

The Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood stars took to social media to show love to their “sonshine”.

“Ya’ll. I can’t believe it,” Moniece shared. “And I couldn’t be more proud of my Sonshine! Graduated with Honors. A Noble Crest award. Noble Athlete award and a few more..”

Lil Fizz, whose real name is Dreux Pierre Frédéric, also shared a message for his son.

“Dear Kam, congratulations, my amazing young man! Today marks the end of eighth grade and the beginning of a brand new chapter in high school. I want you to know how proud I am of everything you’ve accomplished. Earning a spot on the honor roll, being recognized as a noble athlete, and most importantly, standing out as a leader with strong character–these are no small achievements”

He continued, “I’ve watched you grow into a thoughtful, driven, and kind young man. Someone who pushes himself academically, gives his all on the court, and inspires others through quiet strength and integrity. These qualities will carry you far, not just in high school, but in every chapter of your life. High school will come with new challenges, exciting opportunities, and important decisions. And while the road ahead might not always be easy, I have no doubt that you’ll continue to rise to every occasion, just as you always have.”

Just a week earlier, Moniece shared how proud she was of her son.

“Tonight I was the proudest mama EVER,” she wrote. “My baby is so smart. And so kind, thoughtful, talented, athletic, funny, and charismatic. Hearing how his coaches and teachers spoke about him. Seeing the bonds he’s forged with some of his classmates, who I’m almost certain will be his brothers for life, gave me such joy.”

She also gave credit to Dreux for being a hands-on dad. “There from his first breath to every practice and tournament and training session. Day to day keeping him in line and focused.”

Moniece closed with a powerful message of unconditional love. “We love you son. With everything in us. And I think I can speak for both of us when I say, no matter where you go in life, what mistakes you make along the way, every victory and every accomplishment, your dad and I will be there to cover you and pick you back up and celebrate you for as long as we’re granted the gift of life. Day in and day out. You’re amazing, Bean. Love You Always, Mommy.”
