STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) — The Georgia Southern men’s basketball team defeated Northern Illinois, 80-65, in its season-opening game on Nov. 4 at Hanner Fieldhouse.
The day marked the last time Hanner Fieldhouse will host the season-opening game for Georgia Southern. The Eagles are set to open their new basketball arena, Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center, in December.
The men held a pretty comfortable lead as the final horn sounded to pick up their first win of the season. Last season, Georgia Southern started out the season 0-12.
The next game for Georgia Southern is Nov. 11 at Hanner Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.
