What are your volunteer duties at Senior Planet?

I do no matter they need me to! I work the entrance desk. I register folks for lessons. I greet folks as they arrive in. Be sure the espresso is okay. And simply speak to all people!

All of them know my title. They sort of make me comfortable by calling me by my first title. I name them by their title. And simply see how life goes.

You act because the “bouncer” for the Senior Planet Social Membership in Colorado. What are these occasions like?

It’s a gathering place. Once I was a child, we might have dances within the fitness center. And all the blokes could be on one aspect, and all the ladies on the opposite aspect. We might have a look at each other, then impulsively, we would begin dancing.

However the socials right here, all people will get collectively and talks. A number of the folks herald stuff to eat, and we simply have an excellent time. Typically I inform jokes. It’s all only a occasion ambiance!

Why do you like volunteering?

I get to speak to folks, and there’s another army personnel who are available in and we sort of simply chit-chat. See how issues are going.

Additionally, I’ve this smartphone. And I do know what troubles I’ve with it. So, by serving to different folks, and by directing the folks, in what lessons or lectures we’re having on that day, it helped me by serving to them.

After which, when somebody is new, I give them a tour of the place. I attempt to make all people be relaxed and really feel welcomed. And I believe I do an okay job. As a result of I do know what I like.

What does growing older with angle imply to you?

I’m nonetheless getting smarter and I’m nonetheless studying extra about life.
