STATESBORO – The Sun Belt announced the league’s conference schedule for both men’s and women’s basketball. Each team will play nine home and nine road games during the upcoming 2026-27 season.
Men’s Basketball has the first home Sun Belt contest of the season, hosting Coastal Carolina on Wednesday, December 16 at the Jack and Ruth Ann Hill Convocation Center. Women’s Basketball will have its first home conference contest on Saturday, December 19, hosting Arkansas State.
Head coach Charlie Henry‘s squad will have the only other home Sun Belt contest of December, hosting Louisiana on New Year’s Eve at The Hill. The Eagles will then host Southern Miss on January 2 to begin the New Year.
New head women’s basketball coach Heather Macy and the squad will have its first home Sun Belt games of 2027 on January 6 against South Alabama and January 9 against Troy.
There are two Sun Belt home doubleheaders on the docket for the Eagles in 2027; the first coming on January 23 as the women’s team hosts Coastal Carolina and the men’s team hosts App State.
February sees the men’s basketball team with home games against Marshall on February 3rd and new Sun Belt member Louisiana Tech on February 20. The women’s team, meanwhile, has home dates in February against Georgia State on the 10th, James Madison on the 13th and App State on the 23rd.
The final day of the 2026-27 regular season, Friday, February 26, will be the second Sun Belt doubleheader of the year. The women’s team will host Old Dominion and the men’s team will host Georgia State.
Georgia Southern women’s basketball captured its first Sun Belt Conference title in 2025-26 and will look to defend its crown in 2026-27, while men’s basketball made national headlines with its unprecedented run in the 2026 Sun Belt Conference Championships and will look to capitalize on that momentum this upcoming season.
The non-conference schedules for both teams will be released later this month.
