    Northeast Florida National Association of Black Journalist (NEFLNABJ) President Al Pete recently returned from the associations 50th conference held in Cleveland, OH. Pete and local members crossed paths with national journalists throughout the country for a weekend jam-packed with media conferences, workshops, career fairs, board of directors meeting and soulful gospel brunch. “I’ve met some important people and I’m confident the future of Black media is safe,” said Pete.

    Pete was appreciative to moderate a panel discussing entrepreneurship and was honored when he met media journalist Roland Martin. Martin and Pete sat face to face conversating on subjects from politics, black media and his heralded #RolandMartinUnfiltered podcast. Pete laughed “Talk about being a super fan!”

    The conference topics celebrated 50 years of ‘Resilience, Advocacy, Excellence, Evolution of Our Voices.’ The NEFLNABJ members arrived back in Duval ready to share resources and tools to ensure members in Duval have the tools to move forward in their multimedia careers.
