Mrs. Lillie Louvenia Roper was born on March 1, 1940, in Sylvania, Georgia, to the late Horace and Mona German. She peacefully departed this life on December 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Sunrise, Florida.
Lillie was educated in the Screven County Public School System. At an early age, she united with Taylor Chapel Church, where she faithfully served as a devoted member of the usher board. Her love for the church and dedication to serving God remained steadfast throughout her life. Lillie dedicated her life as a Domestic Engineer, faithfully managing her home and lovingly caring for her family with grace and devotion.
As her health began to decline, Lillie relocated to Sunrise, Florida. Upon her arrival, she united with Tabernacle of Faith Ministry in Pompano Beach, Florida, where she was affectionately known and respected as one of the church mothers. Her wisdom, kindness, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Roper; her daughters, Anita Roper Manelus and Gretta Roper; and her siblings, Beatrice Rhodes, Jonas German, and Horace German, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her two devoted daughters, Evangelist Henrietta Warren (Elder Thomas) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Minister Lorraine Golden of Sunrise, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hagin of Springfield, Georgia, and Gale German of Americus, Georgia; one aunt, Thelma Goldwire; and one uncle, Eddie Wright of Charleston, South Carolina.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.

Taylor’s Chapel Independent Methodist Church, 150 Taylor Chapel Rd. Clyo, Georgia 31303. Final Resting Place, Taylor’s Chapel Independent Methodist Church Cemetery. Mother Golden will lie-in-state at the church on Saturday for viewing from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
