Official Obituary of Rufus Carter Jr was the son of the late Rufus Carter Sr and Mary Fedrick Carter. He was born October 21, 1957 in Jeff Davis County. He attended Hazlehurst High School. At an early age he joined Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a truck driver for 41 yrs until his health failed. God called him home on November 9, 2025 at Hazlehurst Court Care and Rehab under the care of Community Hospice after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gussie Mae Smith and nephew, Rodney Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Rufus Carter III of Milan, Ga, two grandsons, Jordan Spell of Hazlehurst, Ga, Ahmad Carter of Mt. Vernon, Ga. Great grand children Kross Spell, Jensen Smith, and Alaya Carter. Nephews, Donathan and Jonathan Smith of Hazlehurst, Ga. Niece, Naomi Smith of Hazlehurst, Ga and a host of family and friends.
