“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” II Corinthians 5:8

Key takeaways
  • Announcement of Rhonda Patrice Brantley’s passing on August 21, 2025, described as “God sent for his angel to return home.”
  • Her life: born September 26, 1967, educated in Glynn County and Savannah Vocational Tech, and an early Christian faith.
  • Survived by close family: parents Thomas L. Sr. and Martha M. Brantley, sons Giordan and Jaaylan, sister, brother, grandson, and extended family.

“Then we will see Him face to face.” I Corinthians 13:12

To my family members and friends, as you read my life story, don’t be sad. Let your heart be comforted by the good times and laughter that we had.  Throughout life, I have weathered many storms while crying out to our God, but the storm is finally over, and I have a place to rest not made by the hands of man. I pray that each of you will remember that I fought so hard to remain with each of you. My sudden departure was all a part of God’s plan for me, so keep the faith. Don’t be angry with our awesome God because he took me sooner than any of you planned. My only regret in life is leaving my sons and grandson but I know that they’re surrounded by so much love from each of you.

On September 26, 1967, when God gave Rhonda Patrice Brantley to Thomas L. Sr. and Martha M. Brantley in Brunswick, Georgia, he gave this family and this world a beautiful, sweet angel. She received her formal education in the Glynn County school system in Brunswick, Georgia. She furthered her education at Savannah Vocational Tech in Savannah, Georgia. Rhonda accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age.

Rhonda P. Brantley was united in holy matrimony with Gregory Herrington. Their union was blessed with two sons, Giordan R. Herrington and Jaaylan M. Herrington.

Rhonda was indeed a blessing to many. She offered help to anyone in need and provided laughter to those who needed their spirits to be uplifted. She could brighten up any dim situation with her love, compassion, and smile. In her leisure, she enjoyed listening to music, talking on the phone, and traveling. She loved people and the color red.

This world was never meant to be our permanent home. God sent for his angel to return home on August 21, 2025. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Vera Merrell, and grandparents, Clifford and Velma Brantley.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her parents, Thomas L. Sr. and Martha M. Brantley; sons, Giordan and Jaaylan Herrington; sister, LaVera (Roy F.) Carroll; brother, Thomas L. (Deidre S.) Brantley, Jr.; bonus son, Gregory Herrington; grandson, Trenton Herrington; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other sorrowing friends and relatives.
