BRINGING TOGETHER the works of two artists engaged with determine composition, “Robert Carter and Charles White in Dialogue” at ACA Galleries explores the human situation by means of the lens of the African American expertise. Born in Chicago, Charles White (1918-1979) was a grasp draftsman who studied on the Artwork Institute of Chicago, Artwork College students League in New York, and with Mexican muralists, together with David Alfaro Siqueiros and Diego Rivera, in Mexico Metropolis. White’s highly effective photographs targeted on social and historic points and the dignity of Black women and men. He was artistically and politically lively in a number of communities, together with New York and Los Angeles, the place he lived the final 20 years of his life and flourished as an impactful educator.
Lesser identified, the follow of Robert Graham Carter (b. 1938) carefully pertains to White visually and when it comes to subject material.
