SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Savannah State males’s basketball staff realized its first-round opponent for the 2025 NCAA Division II Males’s Basketball Championship on March 9.
The reigning SIAC Champions earned the No. 8 seed within the South Regional. They are going to play the No. 1 seed, Nova Southeastern, on March 15 at 5 p.m. Nova Southeastern, ranked No. 2 within the Division II ballot, will host your entire eight-team regional on its campus in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Nova Southeastern enters the event at 30-1. They went 19-1 within the Sunshine State Convention. The Sharks gained the common season and event championship for the convention.
Savannah State arrives within the Division II event after making a Cinderella run by the SIAC Match. Savannah State was the fourth seed from the East Division. They defeated Kentucky State within the opening spherical in a house matchup. Then within the quarterfinals, they knocked off the highest seed from the West, Miles Faculty. Within the semifinals, they pulled one other upset towards the No. 3 seed from the West, Central State. Within the championship, they defeated the No. 2 seed from the West, Tuskegee.
The opposite groups within the regional embrace Valdosta State, Lynn, Alabama-Huntsville, Tampa, Florida Southern and Montevallo.
The regional will happen over 4 days, March 15-18. The eight groups will play single-elimination till the highest staff emerges on March 18. The winner of the South Regional advances to the Elite Eight in Evansville, which begins March 25.
Males’s NCAA Division II bracket was launched at 11 p.m. on March 9.
