SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Savannah State football team continues preparations for this week’s game against Fort Valley State.
As of right now, there are no plans to move Saturday’s game.
The Tigers are 1-2 after going on the road and defeating Tuskegee, 20-16. The victory marked the first time Savannah State has beaten Tuskegee since 1996. Starting quarterback Jadon Adams was out with a foot injury suffered against Central State.
The Tigers used Christian Burks and Jhaydon Sullivan at quarterback. Sullivan played the first, second and fourth quarters and Burks played the third quarter. Head Coach Aaron Kelton telling me he has not made a decision on who will get the start on Saturday.
“Both of them will play,” Kelton said. “They will play a lot of snaps. We just don’t know who the starter will be. Like I tell people, it’s not the starter, it’s the finisher. You want the guy who is going to finish the game.”
The game between Fort Valley and Savannah State will kick off Saturday at 6 p.m. at Tiger Stadium.
