SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Tickets for the 27th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. when all the programming will be announced.
The largest university-run festival will celebrate a star-studded lineup of actors and filmmakers from this year’s most anticipated films from Saturday, October 26 through Saturday, November 2.
The SCAD Savannah Film Festival is an annual festival that kicks off with a gala opening night screening, while the rest of the week features scheduled competition films, premiere screenings, workshops, lectures, and panels.
The events and screenings take place at SCAD’s Trustees Theater and Gutstein Gallery on Broughton Street, The Lucas Theatre for the Arts on Abercorn Street and the SCAD Museum of Art Theater on Turner Boulevard. Each film screening is followed by a conversation with one of the filmmakers or actors.
Actors Annette Bening and Colman Domingo, and filmmakers Richard Linklater and Jerry Bruckheimer are among the honorees this year.
Over the past 27 years, more than 200 Academy Award-nominated films have screened at the festival. Nine out of the 10 films nominated for Best Picture at the 2024 Academy Awards were screened at SCAD, including Best Picture winner Oppenheimer. To date, the festival has honored more than 150 legendary actors, directors, producers, writers and filmmakers.
