Nineteen local boards throughout Georgia held community service projects in June

Georgia REALTORS® launched its inaugural Stars, Stripes & Service initiative in June, a monthlong effort encouraging local boards and associations across the state to participate in community service, volunteerism and support for local causes. Nineteen local boards and associations took part in service projects, fundraisers and outreach efforts throughout the initiative.

“Stars, Stripes & Service demonstrates that the REALTOR® commitment extends well beyond helping families buy and sell homes,” said GAR President Brianne Drake. “Our members are deeply invested in the well-being of their communities, and this initiative provided an opportunity to highlight the meaningful work REALTORS® are doing across our state every day.”

Developed by the Georgia REALTORS® Community Service Committee, the initiative encouraged local boards and associations to support causes in their communities through volunteerism, charitable giving and community partnerships. The effort reflects the ongoing involvement of REALTORS® in service and civic engagement throughout the year and aligns with Georgia REALTORS®’ mission of enhancing the quality of life in the communities its members serve.

“Community service is a core part of what it means to be a REALTOR®,” said GAR President Brianne Drake. “Through Stars, Stripes & Service, our local boards and members demonstrated that their commitment extends well beyond real estate by investing their time and resources to strengthen the communities they serve. We are grateful to everyone who participated and helped make this inaugural initiative a success.”

The initiatives around the state included:

    • Atlanta REALTORS® Association – On June 26, ARA members volunteered at City of Refuge, spending the day completing a variety of service projects to support the organization’s mission of helping individuals and families transition out of crisis and toward stability and self-sufficiency.
    • Cherokee Association of REALTORS® – On June 12, members participated in a Highway Clean-Up along the association’s adopted stretch of Dupree Road in downtown Woodstock.
    • East Metro Board of REALTORS® – On June 6, the East Metro Board hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community clean-up to celebrate its adoption of a segment of the Frog Cricket Trail in Covington. The event also marked the official launch of EMBOR’s Health & Wellness Initiative, with volunteers helping beautify the trail by removing litter and improving the area for residents and visitors.
    • Fayette County Board of REALTORS® – On June 25, FCBOR and its Young Professionals Network (YPN) hosted “Tour. Taste. Toast. – Your Passport to Luxury Living!” at Trilith.
