We spoke with Tahyira Savanna, a content creator, music artist, and business owner who joined the app in 2020 during Covid to help promote her music under the moniker ‘Tee Slaves’.
Did you expect the court to back Trump?
Well, the thing is just that chaos and confusion are already taking shape in our nation. Tomorrow I will be boycotting the banana republic’s presentation of our last President while attending numerous Black Lives Matter rallies in New York City. We are calling on all of our community leaders to lean on the energy of Dr. King, our forever leader. Tiktok will just be on of the apps that will not be able to cover these events. Neither those attending the Maga show. I stand on freedom and the access to free ideas.
Do you foresee backlash in the mainstream media for the guest list? Why are so many tech – bros like Elon and Mark attending this inauguration?
The mainstream has been holding the line when it comes to facts and stating the order of events before they bring in commentators. The backlash will be the reporting of the heightened hypocrisy seen by the incoming Administration. Trump has anti American values as a business leader. Budding up to the rich is how narcissists seal control and power over others. This happened already in Germany. The mainstream is meant to keep the access to the truth open and free to the public. I think we pay for cable already. Social media is not real and neither is the legitimacy of the incoming administration. They all seek to control the masses. No one is interested in governing. The Supreme Court knows a fight between who nominated them in their seat and his new friends, down to kiss every ring is brewing. The guest list speaks to power and control. Deleting TikTok brings some of that power back to Americans.
Did you save your data? What happens to your music streams?
I was in the middle of transferring my Spiritual Awakening weekly show to my podcast Live Hangouts Tahyira Keeps It Too Reel, some episodes will still be added but in general I think the app will return to our usage soon. As far as music streaming, artists are always looking for new ways to enter markets. Tiktok did not help me grow into markets but it helped new listeners find my sound because I was able to use it in content. Instagram and Meta still have those features. Snapchat as well. I was more popular on Snapchar until I used that energy on TikTok. I will miss my dance videos. I just started back taking classes and was excited to engage with the dance community but like I said, we still have tons of apps that keeps us creative. I look forward to new apps and new communities. Keep content creating hopes alive my friends. We’ll be fine.
We scanned Elon’s app X to see how the hashtag #TikTokban was looking, to see how outraged folks might be.
