The principal of Thomas Crossroads Elementary is facing a felony charge after deputies say she was caught on camera shoplifting from a local department store.
As reported by Fox 5 Atlanta, Dr. Letitia J. Crosby was arrested on Jan. 23 after investigators linked her to a theft at Kohl’s Department Store on Bullsboro Drive earlier in the month.
According to Coweta County arrest reports, a Coweta County deputy responded to Kohl’s on Jan. 13 after receiving a complaint about a theft. Store employees reported that a woman had walked through the store, filled a shopping cart with merchandise, and left without paying.
Investigators say the suspect—later identified as Crosby—entered the store on Jan. 6 and took a variety of items, including T-shirts, sweaters, a dress, jewelry, and gift bags, totaling approximately $917.
A store employee also informed law enforcement that this was not Crosby’s first shoplifting attempt. In November 2024, she was reportedly stopped while trying to take nearly $300 worth of merchandise without paying. That incident was not initially reported to authorities.
Deputies reviewed photos and video footage from the January incident before arresting Crosby. She was charged with felony theft by shoplifting and later bonded out of jail on Jan. 24.
According to the Coweta County Schools website, Crosby has been the principal of Thomas Crossroads Elementary since 2019. She previously worked at East Coweta High School as a science teacher and department chair and later served as an assistant principal at Lee Middle School.
