ATLANTA (WJBF) – Vice President Kamala Harris returned to rally voters in Georgia Thursday, along with former U.S. President Barack Obama.
The slew of speakers in DeKalb County included Georgia senators, singer Bruce Springsteen, directors Spike Lee and Tyler Perry and actor Samuel L. Jackson.
“Because folks, the election is here. It is here and upon us. The choice is truly in your hands. Your vote is your voice. Your voice is your power,” said Harris.
Both teams have campaigned heavily in the Peach State over the past few weeks to earn the crucial 16 electoral votes.
“My question to you Georgia, is we do not need four years of a wannabe king, wannabe dictator. That’s not what you need in your life. America is ready to turn the page,” said Obama.
Harris was back in Atlanta for the second time in a week advocating for abortion rights.
“One does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs that the government should not be telling you what to do. Not the government,” said Harris
The When We Vote We Win rally talked about the fight for freedom, the fight for women and creating new opportunities.
“Do we believe in freedom? Do we believe in opportunity? Do we believe in the promise of America?” said Harris.
She reminded Georgians what is at stake and said she is focusing on moving America forward. Harris promised to be a president for all Americans, regardless of party affiliation.
On Friday, Harris will rally in Houston along with Beyonce, while vice presidential candidate JD Vance will return to Georgia on Saturday.
