As an avid podcast listener, I was frankly disappointed by the lack of Black women in spirituality spaces both as guests and in top charts.
Something I’ve come to learn from my time in the online world is that when you don’t see (or hear) people who look like you or share similar lived experiences you simply don’t feel welcome.
You begin to wonder if spaces are truly for you – despite best efforts to be #inclusive. Baring that in mind I knew that I wanted my podcast to be a platform where I’d not only share my own voice but create a space where fellow Black and other POC would be able to share their knowledge with the world too. By making a commitment to primarily focus on sourcing non-White guests I’m ensuring that everyone feels comfortable at the table.
