    • Kim and Barry clash frequently in Season 7, with conversations turning fraught and real issues being dodged.
    • Lydia became a mother figure at 17, taking on duties for her younger siblings after their parents' separation.
    • Kim worries about losing properties and financial stability in the divorce, admitting hostessing alone won’t provide enough income.
    • Kim admits she’s hit 50 and fears retirement, noting Barry has decades of financial expertise from a 25-year career.

Welcome To Plathville star Kim Plath revealed that she landed a new job during her divorce battle with Barry. She started fresh post-split by moving from their family’s Georgia house to a rented one. She supported her minor kids financially while her estranged husband got most of the shared dollars from the court case with him.

Kim expressed her resentment towards Barry in Season 7. She mentioned that discussing anything with him is challenging because it frequently leads to friction and issues. There were times when they disagreed, so they left the chat in the middle. He might have appeared to be coordinating with his wife, but he actually dodged the real conversation. He failed to understand her space as much as she did.

Welcome To Plathville: Lydia Reveals Her Motherly Role After Parents’ Separation!

Lydia Plath sat down with Jinger Duggar Vuolo and Jeremy Vuolo for The Jinger and Jeremy Podcast episode for a heart-to-heart interaction. She shared that she had to become a mother figure for her younger siblings following Kim’s leaving the house. Due to a sudden, shocking change in family structure, she didn’t reconsider her forced role.

Lydia was just 17 when she fulfiled all the motherly duties and responsibilities. “I just did what I had to do to keep things going,” she said. Though she enjoyed the role, sometimes things used to turn quite overwhelming. Barry’s girl admitted that she did whatever she could for others, never having time to discover her own opinion. She is the middle child of nine who became the oldest at 15.

Welcome To Plathville: Kim Shares Her Overflowing Struggles!

Kim Plath featured in the show’s episode 2 to open up about her relationship and life.  The major shift she faced was navigating a tough divorce with Barry. The mom of nine revealed that she got a new part-time job at Tallahasse restaurant. She works a couple of nights per week to host guests, which brings her satisfaction.

Lydia and Moriah go to the same workplace, so Kim is glad that she at least gets to see her daughters. She said for the first time, she felt uncomfortable returning to the work zone. After college, she didn’t work a real job. The TLC star confessed to having spoken with Barry, but they clashed, and she is financially weak.

Furthermore, Kim told the cameras that she built some of her properties, which were once under her care. Hence, she worried about what would happen after the divorce was finalized. Moriah’s mom’s concerns centered on the assets, wondering if she would ever get her hands on them in their divorce. Upon losing them, she would have nothing left to sustain herself.

Kim said she can’t rely on hostessing entirely. She needed more income, but every day she is struggling. The hardest part of her thoughts is her realizing she has hit 50 and feels like retirement. She stated, “I think I’m pretty good at handling my money, but Barry is beyond good with money.” She mentioned that he had a 25-year career of great success, which she supported.
