NEWTON COUNTY — A third suspect is now wanted for a shooting that occurred at the Salem Quick Stop gas station nearly two weeks ago.
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) is looking for 15-year-old Sardius Scott for his alleged connection with the incident. While details have been scarce on what occurred, the NCSO says it was a “shots fired” case on June 15 at around 2:55 p.m. No injuries were reported.
On Monday, the NCSO listed Deangelo Martez Kilpatrick, 16, and Quinnterrious Davon Cannon, 21 as wanted for the incident. The two have yet to be apprehended as of Wednesday on charges including aggravated assault and criminal damage to property, among others.
Two individuals, a male and a female, were also in the store during the time of the shooting, and the NCSO were looking to identify them. The NCSO confirmed that Scott is the male subject in the photo that investigators were looking to identify in Monday’s news release. The female subject, who has been identified but not named by the sheriff’s office, currently does not face any charges.
It is not clear how Scott was involved in the shooting, but he is listed as having active warrants for aggravated assault, reckless conduct, criminal damage to property and possession of a handgun by a person under the age of 18.
Scott is described as a Black male with brown dreads and blonde tips. He stands at 5-foot-5 and weighs approximately 120 pounds.
The NCSO asks that anyone with information regarding Kilpatrick, Cannon or Scott’s whereabouts call 911 and contact Investigator Alberto at 678-625-1429 or by email at [email protected].
