    • Dallas Dupree Young: Known from Cobra Kai, he brings credible fighting ability and on-screen toughness for villain confrontations.

Marvel fans are in for a treat with “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” hitting theaters at the end of July. While promotion for Zendaya and Tom Holland’s new film ramps up, Marvel Studios has another trick up its sleeve: A live-action Miles Morales movie is officially in development. Social media is already buzzing with predictions for who should play the beloved Black Spider-Man. While we wait for the official casting announcement, we’ve rounded up the internet’s top picks.

    Miles Brown

One of the most popular choices online is Miles Brown. The “Black-ish” star definitely has the boyish charm of Miles Morales, and he has comedy chops, too. We can understand why folks on TikTok want Brown to be the next live-action Spider-Man.

    Caleb McLaughlin

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – FEBRUARY 06: Caleb McLaughlin attends the Los Angeles premiere of Columbia Pictures’ and Sony Pictures Animation’s “GOAT” at AMC Century City 15 on February 06, 2026 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Amy Sussman/Getty Images)

“Stranger Things” star Caleb McLaughlin is another fan favorite and knows what it takes to be in an intense sci-fi/action franchise. The actor also has impressive gymnastic skills, which he often posts on Instagram. He could give Tom Holland a run for his web-slinging money.

    Dallas Dupree Young

Having starred in the Netflix show “Cobra Kai,” Dallas Dupree Young could definitely hold his own in a fight against any of the cold-blooded villains Spider-Man has to put up with.

    Skylan Brooks

Skylan Brooks is another actor who fans are constantly adding to their casting wish list, and we can understand why. With projects like the 2016 Netflix drama “The Get Down,” the 2021 thriller “Outsiders” and the 2018 horror series “Castle Rock,” Brooks has more than enough range to play Spider-Man.

    Michael Rainey Jr.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – JUNE 16: Michael Rainey Jr. attends the World Premiere of F1® The Movie in Times Square on June 16, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for Warner Bros. Pictures)

Most known for his roles in the 50 Cent-produced crime shows “Power” and “Ghost,” Michael Rainey Jr. is an actor known for tough roles. Does he also have the soft edge that Miles Morales has? The fans can see the potential, and so do we.

    Jabari Banks

Jabari Banks already has the experience of putting a fresh spin on a beloved character by taking on the role of Will Smith in the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” drama reboot, “Bel-Air.” We’re curious to see what he’d do with the role of Miles Morales.

    Michael Cooper Jr.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – AUGUST 07: Michael Cooper Jr. attends the 2025 Variety Power Of Young Hollywood at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on August 07, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Kayla Oaddams/WireImage)

“Forever” star Michael Cooper Jr. has the charisma to shine in a romance role. Since Gwen Stacy is a love interest for Miles Morales, Cooper might have the edge needed for awkward yet adorable romantic scenes in the live-action film.

    Jonathan Daviss

SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA – NOVEMBER 02: Jonathan Daviss attends Netflix’s POGUELANDIA Celebrating “Outer Banks” Season 4 Part 2 on November 02, 2024 in Santa Monica, California. (Photo by JC Olivera/Getty Images)

Jonathan Daviss definitely has the looks and talent to portray Miles Morales. But since the actor was recently announced to play Snoop Dogg in his upcoming biopic, could this create scheduling conflicts? If not, then we’d love to see him in the new Marvel movie.

    Aubrey Joseph

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – AUGUST 13: Aubrey Joseph attends the Los Angeles special screening of Apple Original Films and A24’s “Highest 2 Lowest” at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on August 13, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images)

Aubrey Joseph has already been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before as Cloak in the 2018 Marvel series “Cloak and Dagger,” so he knows better than anyone else what it takes to be part of the MCU. But since he’s already played a superhero, can he also take on the role of Spider-Man, or is that against the rules?

    Jharrel Jerome

HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA – AUGUST 11: Actor Jharrel Jerome attends FYC Event For Netflix’s ‘When They See Us’ at Paramount Theater on the Paramount Studios lot on August 11, 2019 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by JC Olivera/Getty Images)

“When They See Us” star Jharrel Jerome is another name that often comes up online, with fans praising his acting prowess. We’re sure he has what it takes to be a hero, keeping New York City’s villains at bay.

    Blake Cameron James

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA – OCTOBER 31: Blake Cameron James attends the 28th SCAD Savannah Film Festival on October 31, 2025 in Savannah, Georgia. (Photo by Cindy Ord/Getty Images for SCAD)

Blake Cameron James is a fresh actor on the scene with notable roles in Stephen King’s “It” spinoff series, “It: Welcome to Derry,” and the 2023 psychological drama “Found.” A chance to be the live-action Miles Morales could be the opportunity for James to break out as the next Hollywood star.

    Alex R. Hibbert

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – NOVEMBER 14: Alex Hibbert attends the “Good Burger 2” World Premiere at Regal Union Square on November 14, 2023 in New York City. (Photo by Theo Wargo/Getty Images)

Alex R. Hibbert wowed audiences with his talent when he played Little in the 2016 Academy Award-winning film “Moonlight,” and he only continued to develop his skills in the 2018 drama “The Chi.” It only makes sense that fans want to see what his take on Miles Morales would look like.

    Myles Truitt

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – JULY 20: Actor Myles Truitt attends the SAG-AFTRA Foundation and AAFCA Present Emerging Faces 2025 event at The Meryl Streep Center for Performing Artists on July 20, 2025 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by Amanda Edwards/Getty Images for SAG-AFTRA Foundation)

Myles Truitt is another actor on the list who knows what it’s like to have superpowers. He played Issa Williams in the DC series “Black Lightning.” But since he was in the DC Universe, can he be a part of the MCU? We’ve got our fingers crossed for him.
