    MACON, Ga.-The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) recently announced their slate of football contests to be aired on the ESPN Family of Networks for the upcoming 2026 schedule.

    Of the 23 games that will be aired, Savannah State will be featured twice this season. The October 3rd home matchup against Allen, and the October 31st road contest against last season’s conference runner-up and NCAA Division II Football Championship particpant, Benedict, will both be aired on ESPN+.

    “Our relationship with ESPN remains steadfast as we continue our mission to enhance the visibility of our member institutions and the extraordinary student-athletes who represent them,” said SIAC Commissioner Anthony Holloman, Ed.D. “The 2026 season marks a new era of opportunity, and as we embark on our sixth year with ESPN, we eagerly anticipate an unforgettable season that will showcase the legacy, competitive fervor and resilience that define SIAC football.”

    The new era of Savannah State Football under first year head coach Thomas Howard will begin on Saturday, August 29th with a road matchup against defending Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and HBCU National Champion South Carolina State, with kickoff set for 6:00pm.
