Glow & Grow: Black Beauty, Haircare, and Skincare Tips

    Key takeaways
    • Long layers: soft, face-framing layers add movement; pair with voluminous 1990s-inspired blowouts.
    • Collarbone-length cuts rise for versatility and easy wear; clients cite Hailey Bieber, Halle Berry, and Kaia Gerber.
    • The bob remains popular; sleek, jaw-length bobs stay a go-to shorter option inspired by Jessica Biel.
    • Anh champions the pixie; bold, high-maintenance cuts add personality when matched to texture, features, and lifestyle.
    • Clients bring AI generated images for inspiration; expect adaptations for hair density, texture, growth, and everyday styling.

Anh Co Tran is seeing clients gravitate toward effortless movement and wearable shapes in the salon. Think collarbone cuts, long layers, and bouncy blowouts. We asked Anh what clients are requesting most, which trends are gaining momentum, and the one haircut he’d love to see make a comeback.

Long Layers & Lots of Movement

One of the biggest trends Anh continues to see is long hair with soft, face-framing layers. Rather than dramatic shape changes, clients are asking for movement that feels effortless and grows out beautifully. When it comes to style, clients love to pair their long layers with voluminous ’90s-inspired blowouts.

Anh’s Styling Tip: To achieve the soft bounce and movement, use a curling iron to curl the hair in horizontal sections.

Anh notices that collarbone-length cuts have also become increasingly popular this year. When paired with soft face framing, they offer a fresh, modern take on ’70s-inspired hair.

    The Bob Isn’t Going Anywhere

As longer lengths continue to trend, shorter cuts remain just as relevant. Anh is still seeing plenty of clients requesting sleek, jaw-length bobs, many inspired by Jessica Biel’s haircut.

    What Anh Predicts for Fall

Looking ahead, Anh believes collarbone-length cuts will continue gaining popularity.

The length offers the best of both worlds: not too short nor too long. It’s a versatile cut and easy to wear, allowing you to leave your hair down or pull it back to style multiple ways.

Many clients are currently referencing celebrities including Hailey Bieber, Halle Berry, and Kaia Gerber as inspiration for their effortless, movement-focused collarbone cuts.

The Trend Anh Wants to See Return

If Anh could see more of any haircut, it would be the pixie. He acknowledges it can be one of the more challenging styles to wear, but he loves the personality a great pixie cut brings.

“It takes confidence and requires regular maintenance,” Anh explains. When it’s right for someone’s hair texture, features, and lifestyle, a pixie cut can make an incredible statement.

    From Pinterest to AI

If you’re considering face-framing layers, a bob, a collarbone cut, or maybe even a pixie, Anh has noticed more clients bringing in AI-generated images of themselves wearing different hairstyles.

While AI can be a helpful way to visualize a new look, Anh gently reminds clients that it’s only a starting point for inspiration. Hair density, texture, growth patterns, and everyday styling preferences all play a part in achieving a look, so the final result will be a version that works naturally for each individual.

Choosing the Right Trend for You

Hair trends may evolve, but Anh believes the best haircut is always one that’s personalized to the individual. Whether it’s a bouncy blowout, a collarbone cut, or a bold pixie, the goal is creating a style that complements your hair, your lifestyle, and the way you want to wear it every day. That’s the philosophy behind Lived In Hair.

Thinking about your next haircut? Anh would love to help you find the right look during your next salon appointment.
