Glow & Grow: Black Beauty, Haircare, and Skincare Tips

    Key takeaways
    • Removing tonight at midnight Mountain Time: Mint Chocolate Body Butter, Gingerbread Blended Butter, Lemon & Lavender Hair & Body Oil.
    • New releases Vanilla Chai, Vanilla Rose, Bergamot & Lime have outperformed retiring scents; Lemon & Lavender return remains uncertain.
    • BGLH is restructuring: over 12 months it will remove underperforming scents to curate a focused, high quality lineup and reduce choice fatigue.
    • Existing subscriptions unaffected; start a new subscription before midnight to keep retiring scents. One-time purchases end tonight.

And so, we come to the end of an era.

At midnight mountain time tonight, we are removing the following scents from our website and Subscription Box options:

    • Mint Chocolate Body Butter
    • Gingerbread Blended Butter
    • Lemon & Lavender Hair & Body Oil

As you know, each retiring scent was competing against one of our new releases:

    • Mint Chocolate vs. Vanilla Chai
    • Gingerbread vs. Vanilla Rose
    • Lemon & Lavender vs. Bergamot & Lime Hair & Body Oil

    • Vanilla Chai Blended Butter

At this point, the only one of the three that still has a chance of returning is Lemon & Lavender Hair & Body Oil. And based on the increasing momentum of Bergamot & Lime, even that is iffy.

Vanilla Chai and Vanilla Rose seem to have proven—pretty definitively—that they have more appeal to our customer base than Mint Chocolate and Gingerbread.

Mint Chocolate has been part of our lineup for more than ten years, Gingerbread for more than six. But now, in the immortal words of Boyz II Men, it’s time to “say goodbye to yesterday.”

I’ll be honest with you: this is part of a larger restructuring happening at BGLH.

Over the next 12 months, we’ll be removing scents that have underperformed for years. Some will be permanently replaced by new releases. Others will simply be retired without a replacement.

Because I don’t want BGLH to sell “every butter imaginable,” lol. I want us to offer a high-quality, carefully curated selection that truly resonates with you.

Choice fatigue is real. We don’t want to contribute to it by offering so many options that shopping becomes overwhelming.

Our next new release and scent retirement will happen on December 31, 2026. Until then, the lineup is stable.

As for these retiring scents, this is your last chance to purchase them individually. Stock up before midnight tonight.

One important note: Existing subscriptions containing these scents will not be affected.

If one of the retiring scents is already in your subscription, you’ll continue receiving it for as long as you keep it there.

You can also start a new subscription containing one or more of the retiring scents before midnight tonight. That is the only way to continue receiving them after they leave the website.

But after tonight, these scents will no longer be available for one-time purchase and can no longer be added to a new or existing subscription.
