    City Offices Will Close Monday, May 26, in Observance

    City of Savannah: Official News, Events & Community Updates

    City Offices Will Close Monday, May 26, in Observance of Memorial Day

     

    SAVANNAH – City of Savannah administrative offices and facilities will be closed Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. Emergency services will remain open. 

    Sanitation services will be impacted by the holiday closure. Residents can expect the following changes to their schedule: 

     1. Residential garbage collection and yard waste collection services will not run on Monday, May 26.      Collection services will resume on Tuesday, May 27 and proceed on a one-day delayed schedule.

    2. Curbside recycling collection for Wednesday routes will be collected on Thursday, May 29. Per the normal recycling collection schedule, recycling will not be collected on other routes. Street sweepers will not run on Monday, May 26. Street sweepers will resume their regular routes on Tuesday, May 27.  

    3. The Dean Forest Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station will both be closed on Monday, May 26 on a regular schedule. The Dean Forest Landfill will reopen on Tuesday, May 27. Bacon Park Transfer will reopen on Wednesday, May 28.  

    As a reminder, trash and recycling carts should be placed at their normal curbside collection points with a minimum of three feet of separation from each other and at least three feet of space from mailboxes and/or other obstructions.

    Residents are encouraged to consult the Sanitation schedule packets disseminated each year for more information. You can find the schedule and additional information at savannahga.gov/sanitation.
