    City of Savannah to Host Ribbon Cutting for New Playground at Wilshire Estates

     

    SAVANNAH – The City of Savannah’s Recreation and Leisure Services Department will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, June 13 at 2:30 p.m., to celebrate the grand opening of a new playground in Wilshire Estates.

    This new play space features a multi-station play structure, swing bays, and a miniature whirl designed for children ages 5 to 12. Additional improvements include perimeter fencing for added safety, as well as new walkways and crosswalks to meet ADA accessibility standards ensuring the playground is welcoming and inclusive for all.

    The $82,369 project is part of the City’s Recreation Re-Imagine initiative, which focuses on upgrading and expanding recreational spaces across Savannah.

    City leaders and staff will be on site to officially open the playground during the ceremony. The event is free and open to the public. All residents are encouraged to attend and join in the celebration.

    Once open, the playground will be available for public use seven days a week from dawn to 9 p.m.
