Tennessee State University, Clark University, Spelman College and Morehouse College Play Host to The 2025 Youth Summer Camps Serving Local Underserved Communities

ATLANTA, June 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — CAMP HBCYouth, the educational minority youth summer day camp based on the principles and values of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), today announced it is once again teaming up with Amazon Access, the team developing programs and services that make shopping in Amazon stores easier and more affordable for customers.

Following a successful collaboration last year, the 2025 camp will again feature opportunities to explore Amazon Access programs, including payment with SNAP EBT, Access Discounts, and Prime Access—which offers all the benefits of a regular Prime membership at 50% of the cost for qualifying government assistance recipients and income-verified customers in the U.S.

This year’s participating universities include Tennessee State University, Clark University, Spelman College and Morehouse College, with additional sponsorship from the AJ Terrell Foundation.

Camp HBCYouth registration is now open at $200 per child, with $100,000 in scholarships available for eligible children in pre-K to 5th grade. The camp provides continued education and support during the summer, featuring academic enrichment, group projects, leadership activities, a summer food program, and recreational programming including arts & crafts, physical fitness, and music.

“As a proud Morehouse graduate, I’ve seen firsthand the power of the HBCU community to shape lives and open doors,” said Brian Wright, Founder of Camp HBCYouth. “This year, we’re proud to expand Camp HBCYouth to even more campuses by teaming up with Amazon—reaching deeper into communities of color and inspiring the next generation earlier than ever. The momentum is growing, and so is our impact.”

“At Amazon, we believe in building pathways for future leaders,” said Nancy Dalton, Director, Amazon Access. “By teaming up with Camp HBCYouth to reach even more HBCU campuses, we’re investing in early access for students and connecting families to money-saving resources in Amazon stores during summer months.”
