One 28-second video has given thousands of fans the A-list relationship confirmation they’ve been waiting a year for.

In June 2024, reports emerged of a budding romance between actor Paul Mescal and singer Gracie Abrams.

Since then, the pair have been spotted out and about together – PDAs and all – numerous times.

However, they’ve never directly confirmed or acknowledged the relationship, and are yet to make a joint appearance on the red carpet.

Now, following her weekend at Glastonbury, Abrams has bitten the bullet and given fans what they’ve been hanging out for.

On Instagram, the That’s So True singer shared a video of her dancing on Mescal’s shoulders during Olivia Rodrigo’s performance at the iconic UK music festival.

Rodrigo is heard singing The Cure’s Friday I’m In Love with Robert Smith, the band’s frontman, who she brought on stage as a special guest.

Abrams and Mescal also appeared in a selfie with Chelsea Handler and Stella McCartney, shared to Handler’s Instagram account.

Following Abrams’ performance on Friday night, she was spotted kissing Mescal, who rose to fame with his role on Normal People and has since appeared in Gladiator II and All Of Us Strangers.

Reports of their romance began a year ago when the pair were photographed in a restaurant together in London.

Although Abrams – whose dad is Hollywood director JJ Abrams – joined Mescal at the Los Angeles premiere of Gladiator II in November, they didn’t walk the red carpet together.

Similarly, they both attended the Cannes Film Festival in May, where the Irish actor’s movie The History of Sound premiered.

However, they appeared separately on the red carpet at the screening.

Mescal has also been spotted supporting Abrams at some of her concerts.

The American singer’s Glastonbury clip might be all fans can hope for in terms of acknowledgement from the couple on their relationship status.

Mescal told GQ in an interview last year that he’s “not comfortable inviting any access” into his personal life.

“How I am in my private life is so precious to me because I get very little of it, and it might be public interest, but it’s not public-obligated information,” he said.
